In 1998, Allscapes was awarded design and landscape construction contracts for the office and control room of Lafarge Cement Inc's flagship plant in Richmond, British Columbia.
Today, Allscapes continues to provide landscape design, construction, and maintenance for the entire plant, a site that comprises over 72 acres. Lafarge has invested significant resources to create a green, environmentally friendly site. More than 60% of the site has been re-vegetated, and this will increase to 70% of the site in the near future.
Working together, Allscapes and Lafarge have created an environment to which wildlife has returned. Coyotes, rabbits, field mice, birds of prey, and a family of deer can often be seen on the property, a sure sign that with thoughtful planning and execution, industry and nature can co-exist.
